The Three Categories of the MTN Scholarship

• You must be a 300-level student (or have completed your 200-level exams going into 300-level).
• For Medical students, you must be in your 400-level.
• Requirement: You need a minimum CGPA of 3.5 or its equivalent (Second Class Upper). For polytechnic students on Direct Entry, you must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (Upper Credit) from your OND.

2. MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) MTN remains one of the few organizations with a dedicated fund for visually impaired students.

• This is open to 200 and 300-level blind students studying any course.
• Requirement: A minimum CGPA of 2.5 is required (or 2.0 for polytechnic OND graduates moving into HND).

3. Top 10 UTME Scholarship You don't apply for this one—it is awarded automatically. The top 10 highest-scoring candidates in the 2026 JAMB UTME receive an automatic ₦300,000 scholarship from their 100-level straight through to graduation, regardless of their course or whether they attend a private or public university.

How to Apply for the 2026 MTN Scholarship

Forget about printing documents and traveling to submit files—the entire application process is completely digital and 100% free.

Step 1: Check your CGPA Before you start, log into your university student portal and confirm that your current CGPA meets the 3.5 threshold for STEM or the 2.5 threshold for blind students. Do not apply if you are below the cut-off; the system will automatically filter you out.

What Happens After You Apply?

If your application is successful, you will be invited for an assessment examination. Once you pass the exam, you will be inducted as an MTN Scholar.
